This is a long standing feature of the region but had seen a lot of neglect over recent years. Last autumn it was a candidate in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.peoplesmillions.org.uk\/2013-finalists\/london\/wild-about-thamesmead\">The People&#8217;s Millions<\/a>\u00a0and secured considerable funding for an overhaul and revamp after a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wildlondon.org.uk\/wild-about-thamesmead\">successful campaign<\/a> and public vote.
